Bishop Caumont and Mother M. Matilda
1911 April 26th, Feast of Our Lady of Good Counsel. Foundation Day of the congregation (present-day St Francis Hospital, Ajmer) 
1913 Rt. Rev. Henri Fortunat Caumont is made the first Bishop of Ajmer-Rajputana Diocese. 
1914 The War Years begin.
1918 Welfare centre and primary school set up in Bhildesh, Jhabua.
1919 Sophia School started (May 16th)
1921 Sr. Mary Soares, qualified as the first Religious doctor of the world, is sent to Bhildesh. 
1922 The Constitutions are entrusted to us for the first time.
1926 Orphanage shifted from Ajmer to Jaipur
1927 Nov. 5th the roof of the orphanage caves in killing one sister and five children
1928 First General Chapter convened.
1930 Our Founder dies. Mother M. Matilda continues his work.
1932 House opened at Ernakulam, Kerala but was closed down six years later.
1934 The Mother House is moved to Mirshali (the present location). Our 'nest' is transformed into St. Francis Hospital.
1936 Silver Jubilee Celebrations. A copy of the revised Constitutions upgraded to suit the norms of canon law is completed and distributed to all members. Official permission for training of nurses is given by the Holy See. 
1937 Schools opened at Mapusa and Jodhpur and a Welfare centre at Bhawanikera.
1939 World War II begins - difficult years follow.
1942 Sophia school, Mirshali is recognized as an Intermediate College; Bishop Guido hands over to us San Damiano, Mashobra Simla.
1945 House at Bhagor, Bhildesh is taken over from the Prabhudasi Sisters.
1946 The Congregation receives official Papal erection with retrospective effect from 1936.
1947 India becomes independent. We rejoice with our countrymen.
1948 Madonna Bhavan, maternity centre is built on Sophia School. A house in Sharanpur, Uttar Pradesh is opened.
1949 Bishop Leo D'Mello, the fourth bishop and first Indian bishop of the Ajmer-Rajputana Diocese is consecrated.
1950 Mother M. Matilda is no more.
1951 Second General Chapter is convened. Sr. Clare Saldanha is elected the first Indian Superior General. A new novitiate block is constructed.
1953 Hindi-Medium Section of Sophia School, Saharanpur is opened on the Church campus. 
1955 Our congregation is officially affiliated to the great Franciscan Family.
1957 The third General Chapter is convened. Sr. Angela D'Souza is elected the Superior General. Mary Immaculate School, Borivili is started.
1958 Sophia Hindi-Medium School, Mirshali is opened and a year later is shifted to Bhatta.
1960 School is started at Kota Junction to cater to workers of the Railway Colony.
1961 Golden Jubilee Celebrations. Msgr. James Knox is the Chief Guest. Pope John XXIII grants us permission of Perpetual Vows. A Hindi-medium School is started at Meerut.
1962 Sophia School opened at Bikaner. Sophia College is shifted to the new campus. At the request of the Christian Brothers we take over the care of small boys at St. Mary's, Mount Abu.
1963 Fourth General Chapter. Mother Angela is re-elected Superior General. School for Girls is opened at Kalina. 
1965 We are entrusted with the formation of 'The Sisters of Our Lady of Graces', Meerut. Welfare Centre opened at Kaiserpura, Ajmer.
1967 Perpetual Help Hospital opened at Sasthan, Mangalore.
1969 Fifth General Chapter. Sr. Genevieve Acharuparambil is elected the Superior General. Golden Jubilee of Sophia School, Ajmer is celebrated presided over by his Eminence, Valerian Cardinal Gracias.
1971 The Nirmal Kalayan Kendra, Ajmer, is taken over by us. 
1972 A community is established at Hathikhera, Ajmer.
1973 June 14th, the congregation was raised to Pontifical status. 
Village hospital started at Kaithoon, Kota. health Centre and School at Bhildesh. A community is started at Hathras, UP. Vikasini Trade School is established at Borivili. 
1974 The third revised Constitutions is released for evaluational use.
1975 The sixth General Chapter. Sr. Jovita Pereira is elected Superior General. Schools opened in Jhunjhunu Dist. and Kalka.
1979 Sisters work in collaboration with the Pillar Fathers at Vapi. A community is set up in Banswara.
1981 Seventh General Chapter. Sr. Yvonne D'Souza is elected Superior General. Karuna Hospital begins at Borivili.
1983 Vapi community is shifted to Godhra.
1984 Services opened at Bhagidora, Bhilwara. Fourteen sisters trained in community health schemes.
1985 The updated Constitutions is finally approved by the Vatican. A spiritual renewal seminar is conducted by Fr. Amalorpavadas for the whole congregation.
1986 Diamond Jubilee of the Congregation. The Pro Nuncio, Agostino Caccivillian presides over the celebrations. A home for the aged is inaugurated at Kaiserpura.
1987 The eight General Chapter. Sr. Frances is elected Superior General. A regular community is established in Siwan, Bihar.
1989 A three-year contract to work for the hearing impaired, Bombay is taken up. St. Anselm's school, Abu Road is taken up.
1990 Works undertaken are: Cancer re-habilitation Centre, Bandra East, Behror,
1993 The Ninth General Chapter is held. Sr. Michelle Pereira is elected the Superior General.
1994 June. The congregation is bifurcated into Regions: St. Francis Region and St. Clare Region. 
1994-
1997
Functioning of Regional councils begins: Sr. Savina Pinto (Regional Superior of St. Clare Region), St. Josita Abraham (Regional Superior of St. Francis Region). The residences are at Kota and Ajmer respectively.
1997-
2000
Sr. Jacinth is appointed Regional Superior of the 
St. Clare Region, Sr. Goretti is appointed Regional Superior of the St. Francis Region.
1998 The Tenth General Chapter. Sr. Michelle Pereira is re-elected.
1999 The second session of the Tenth General Chapter is held to study the issue of bifurcation into provinces.
2001 March and April: Pre-chapter assemblies are held with every sister participating. March 14th, the two Provinces are born by decree of the Superior General.
July 10th - 16th: The first Provincial chapters are held.
Sr. Jacinth is elected the first Provincial of St. Clare Province.
Sr. Mabel is elected the first Provincial Superior of St. Francis Province.
2002 Karuna Hospital at Borivili inaugurated. A residence at Calicut is established.
May 1st: The new Provincial House, St. Francis Province is inaugurated at Mirshali.
2004 Eleventh General Chapter. Sr. Joselyn is elected Superior General. At the Second Provincial Chapters, Sr. Mabel is elected Provincial Superior of the St. Francis Province and Sr. Gayner is elected Provincial Superior of the St. Clare Province.
